Bringing Innovation and Technology to the Classroom

BSM prides itself on using cutting-edge technology to offer students a transformative education that includes creation-oriented projects, globally-connected lessons, personalized instruction, and learning that can take place anytime, anywhere.

Since 2010, every Red Knight has been equipped with a MacBook Air as part of BSM’s one-to-one laptop program. This allows students and teachers to research, collaborate, and communicate under any circumstance.

Coursework and Internships

Students in both Junior High and Senior High at BSM have the opportunity to engage with technology in the classroom through a variety of course offerings. BSM also offers the EPIC (Explore, Partner, Inspire, and Connect) Internship program and RED (Research, Entrepreneurship, and Design) project.

EPIC Internships

BSM's seniors can apply for half-credit internships with BSM’s information technology and marketing and communications departments as well as internships and job shadow opportunities outside the school. This program gives students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the latest technology in these fields.

RED Program

BSM’s RED (Research, Entrepreneurship, and Design) Program offers students hands-on learning experiences that parallel the modern workplace. RED courses, which include engineering, invention, product design art, coding, and much more, encourage students to use cutting-edge technology to bring their projects to life.

Some of the specialized technology integrated across the curriculum include: 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, 3D scanners, drones, centrifuges, video

Virtual Learning

Long before the 2020 pandemic, BSM was using technology to conduct virtual learning when the school building had to close for snow, cold, or other events.

BSM has a culture of sharing best practices through continuous peer-to-peer professional development and attending regional and national conferences in order to be a local leader in technology integration.

Additionally, BSM teachers embed specialized technology across the curriculum, including: 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, 3D scanners, drones, centrifuges, video cameras, iPads, and more.
